A man has been arrested after Swindon schoolgirls reported being approached.
Detectives launched an investigation into incidents whereby a suspect went up to teenage girls and started talking to them – prompting them to raise concerns.
Last night (13 November), officers arrested a man – aged in his 40s – on suspicion of indecent exposure and public order offences. He has been interviewed and released on bail.
On Friday (10 November), Wiltshire Police asked people not to jump to conclusions – but would not confirm where in the town the incidents occurred.
In a statement, DS Emma Kinderman said: “We take such reports extremely seriously and understand the concern that reports of this nature can cause.
“However, we would urge people to avoid unhelpful speculation and jumping to conclusions.
“We would ask that members of the public should remain vigilant and report any similar concerns to us.”
