A ‘hugely talented’ boy who died at his Chippenham home has been named locally – as tributes to him stream in on social media.
16-year-old Dan Broad was found unresponsive after emergency services attended an address in Riverside Drive, Monkton Park, shortly before 3pm on Sunday 13 September.
Despite the best efforts of police officers and paramedics, including a critical care team from Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance, he was pronounced dead.
Wiltshire Police has confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
Since the tragedy, tributes have been posted online by loved ones and friends.
“you were hugely talented, i wish you knew how amazing you were. rest in peace LLD”, one person penned.
Another wrote: “Rest in paradise Dan. Your was such a sweetheart. Everyone’s gonna forever be missing and loving you”.
The parent of one of Dan’s friends described his death as an “absolute tragedy” and remembered him as a boy who loved singing.
They said: “He was a friend of my daughter. She said he was a fantastic and lovely boy who loved singing.
“This is an absolute tragedy, my thoughts are with his family, friends and all his school friends.
“If you need support, please reach out to family, friends, teachers, doctors, anyone.”
In another tribute, someone commented: “rest in peace bro, yu forever made people proud x”
Another read: “i miss you voice already miss easy boy”
He is understood to have died by suicide and HM Coroner for Wiltshire and Swindon has been informed. An inquest can be expected in due course.
