UPDATE: Wiltshire Police HQ incident: Terrorist attack teams stood down
There’s been a huge 999 response after a ‘major threat’ at Wiltshire Police HQ.
Police have evacuated the main building and firearms officers are patrolling the site in London Road, Devizes, this evening (Tuesday).
The public are being warned to stay away following what sources say is a potential terror-related incident – which remains ongoing at 8.15pm.
Approximately ten ambulance crews – including several Hazardous Area Response Teams – are on scene – gathered at an RV point.
Fire officers from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service are also in attendance, with specialist terrorism crews understood to be on standby.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We are asking members of the public to avoid the Police HQ in London Road, Devizes to allow emergency services to attend a reported incident.
“The premises have been evacuated as a precautionary measure.”
They added: “We will provide further updates as the situation develops.”
