Terrorist attack teams deployed to an incident at Wiltshire Police HQ have been stood down.
The force’s main building in London Road, Devizes, was evacuated and locked down as firearms officers patrolled the site this evening (Tuesday).
Marauding Terrorist Attack (MTA) crews were mobilised to the scene from out of the county alongside at least ten ambulance service vehicles.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance medics and several Hazardous Area Response Teams were spotted at an RV point near the police headquarters as the threat was assessed.
Despite the significant emergency response, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We wish to make clear that at no point was there any risk to staff or members of the public.”
They added: “There are no reported injuries and no arrests have been made.
“We wish to thank the public, who may have been inconvenienced, for their patience and understanding.”
Wiltshire Police has not provided any further information about what sparked the major 999 response.
