A house in Swindon has been cordoned off as a crime scene following a violent attack – as police arrest a man on suspicion of committing a serious assault.
Officers were called to the terraced property in Elmina Road, thought to contain multiple bedsits, in the early hours of this morning (Saturday).
The house and part of the pavement immediately outside were cordoned off with crime scene tape.
Blood splatter could be seen on the wall of the front of the house, whilst a small pool of blood and some bloody droplets were present on the pavement.

Smashed glass was visible in the garden of the property, as was more blood – including some of the door frame at the communal entranceway.
Two police community support officers guarded the building front and back ahead of forensics.

Wiltshire Police confirmed that the victim, a man, was taken to Great Western Hospital with serious injuries. They aren’t thought to be life-changing.
A man, aged in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent, an offence that on conviction carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment. He remains in custody.
