A head-on crash near a popular farm shop has left a driver seriously injured.
Emergency services were called to the B3109 Bradford Road, at the entrance to Wadswick Country Store in Box, at around 11.30am today (Saturday).
Two vehicles – a black Mazda MX-5 and a blue Nissan Note – were involved in the incident.
Two ambulance crews, two critical care medics from Wiltshire Air Ambulance and several police officers were in attendance.
The driver of the Nissan sustained a suspected broken sternum (breastbone) and was rushed to hospital for further assessment and treatment.
The two occupants of the Mazda are believed to have sustained minor injuries.
According to Sergeant Rich Hatch, the collision was head-on and the circumstances around the incident are being investigated. No arrests were made at the scene.
The road is closed in both directions between White Ennox Lane and the A365 Devizes Road, but is likely to reopen by about 3pm.
