Firefighters have bravely rescued a kitten from a house blaze in Warminster.
Emergency services responded to reports of a fire at a family home in Falcon Road at 11.05am on Sunday (6 September).
Two fire crews from Warminster and Trowbridge attended the scene, with firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and tackling the flames using a hose reel jet.
The occupants – including young children – had managed to escape the house before 999 crews arrived.
One of two kittens remained missing inside the building. Firefighters managed to locate and rescue the kitten, and both were taken to the vet for treatment following the ordeal.
A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the fire “started accidentally in the kitchen and was contained to that room”.
They added that there was also “smoke damage to the whole property”.

She said much of the kitchen equipment has been lost, while smoke damage has affected the home from the lower floors through to the top of the property.
Money raised will go towards replacing essential belongings and helping to make the house safe and liveable again.
Some of the funds are also expected to pay for veterinary checks for the family’s two kittens following the fire. Bethany said one of the animals may have suffered smoke inhalation.
On the fundraising page, Bethany also said a daughter had been inside the house for around 16 minutes before getting out.
She is now appealing for donations to help the family replace what they have lost, recover from the damage and ensure both kittens receive any veterinary treatment they need.
