A driver has been stopped by police after they loaded their car dangerously.
The Vauxhall was pulled over by officers from the roads policing unit (RPU) in Swindon today (25 May).
The vehicle was loaded with a large piece of plasterboard, which was positioned over the driver’s head.
An RPU spokesperson said that “more concerningly”, a newborn baby was also a rear passenger in the car.
The driver was handed a £100 fine and three points on their licence for using a motor vehicle when there is a danger of injury due to the position and security of its load.
It comes as part of today’s proactive operation by Wiltshire Police, whereby more than 20 roads policing officers are out on the county’s road network.
