A number of dogs living at a home in Corsham ‘appear healthy’ after concerning audio was recorded by a neighbour, according to Wiltshire Police.
Officers launched an investigation after a local resident heard distressing noises coming from a garden in Long Close Avenue on 3 December.
In a recording, a dog can be heard squealing and two men are heard speaking. At one point, one man states: “F***ing whacked the [inaudible]”.
A second man responds: “Mate…she’s nearly dead now”. The first man responds: “I don’t care, pass her here, she knows the f***ing score”.
The second man replies: “Mate she’s nearly died… I ain’t even joking”. Listen to the recording on our Facebook page >
The conversation, accompanied by loud wails of a dog and loud bangs, sparked serious concern – with police launching a probe and attending the scene a short time later.
It’s not clear what actions were taken by officers who attended that evening, but officers re-attended with the RSPCA today (Tuesday) to carry out further investigations.
Now Wiltshire Police say that four dogs were located and found to be cared for and healthy.
Inspector Pete Foster said: “We are aware of a video/audio circulating that sounds quite distressing.
“We have visited the address with an animal welfare officer from the RSPCA and found four dogs at the address.
“We are satisfied that the dogs appear to be well cared for and healthy.”
