A biker has been rushed to hospital after a serious crash on a crossroads near Chippenham – with two air ambulances scrambled.
Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Chequers Hill at around 5.30pm this afternoon (Monday).
The incident involved a car and a motorcycle, with the biker sustaining serious injuries.

Great Western Air Ambulance and Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance were deployed, landing their helicopters in fields just metres from the scene.
Police closed the major route between Corsham and Chippenham while 999 crews provided urgent treatment to the casualty.
At around 6.30pm, they were taken into an ambulance and rushed to the Major Trauma Centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol with critical care medics on board.

The road reopened Chippenham-bound at about 7pm, with the Corsham-bound side remaining closed for recover of the wrecked motorcycle.
