A dog has reportedly died after eating an unknown substance at a woodland in Swindon.
The three-year-old lurcher breed began fitting and foaming at the mouth shortly after consuming the item whilst being walked in Stratton Woods off Kingsdown Road.
Despite the dog’s owner rushing it to the vets following the incident over the weekend, they were unable to save its life.
Local dog owners are warning others to ensure their dogs are on a leash if they are being walked in the area of Stratton Woods as a precaution.
Wiltshire Police and Woodland Trust have been informed of the incident, with park rangers understood to be searching for the cause of the death.
