A local cyclist is said to be fighting for his life after sustaining serious head injuries in a collision on Queens Drive in Swindon yesterday night.
At approximately 8.40pm on Thursday 24 August, a Volkswagen Polo was travelling east along Queens Drive. As it passed the ambulance station, a pedal cyclist was coming towards the vehicle and a collision took place.

The cyclist, a 37-year-old Swindon man, received extensive treatment at the scene and then was taken to Southmead Hospital by ambulance. He is believed to have sustained a head injury.
The eastbound carriageway of Queens Drive was closed for approximately four hours while collision investigators carried out extensive enquiries at the scene.
It’s not believed the injured man was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and the damaged bicycle didn’t appear to have any bike lights.
A police spokesperson said: “We’d like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who saw either the Volkswagen Polo or the cyclist prior to the collision.”
