A car has flipped in a dramatic crash – as the driver reportedly hides in a wheelie bin.

Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision involving at least three vehicles on Kingswood Avenue, Park North, at around 11.30am today (Monday).

A silver Volkswagen Golf struck two cars – an oncoming blue Jaguar and a parked silver Hyundai – and overturned on the junction with Lyndhurst Crescent.

The driver of the Golf, a man, climbed free from the wrecked vehicle and reportedly fled on foot. He was found hiding in a wheelie bin nearby, according to witnesses.

The man was taken into an ambulance for treatment; it’s not yet clear if he has been arrested for any offences in connection with the smash.

Nobody else is believed to have sustained any injuries.

The road is closed in both directions while 999 crews attend the scene and the vehicles involved are recovered.

Wiltshire Police has been approached for comment. Updates follow.
