The A342 near Devizes is closed as 999 crews race to a multi-vehicle crash.
Emergency services were called to the scene between St Edith’s Marsh and Rowde at around 8am this morning (Friday).
According to a witness the incident involves several vehicles and a telegraph/utility pole.
Traffic is building in both directions, with motorists being diverted.
In a statement, Wiltshire Police said: “Please be aware of road closures currently in place on the A342 at Rowde near Devizes following a road traffic collision involving two vehicles.
“The road is closed in both directions from Rowde to Sandy Lane to allow emergency services to clear the road and engineers to make safe a downed powerline.
“There are no reported serious injuries.
“Please seek alternative routes and expect delays in the area.”
