An investigation into a sex attack on a child in Tisbury remains ongoing.

It’s 18 months following the serious incident, but a suspect is yet to be charged with the crime – which took on Thursday 6 August 2020.

The sexual assault happened around 11pm in the Tisbury Park area, with a crime scene cordon in place for 24 hours.

A 22-year-old man was arrested at the time but later released under investigation.

In a recent update, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: ”The investigation is ongoing and the arrested man remains under investigation.”

The force confirmed that the victim – understood to be a girl aged under the age of 18 – received support and care from specialist officers.

In a statement released at the time of the incident, DI Joe Saunders said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious or anyone acting suspiciously on Thursday night or in the early hours of Friday morning.

“Tisbury is a close knit community and I appreciate the increased police presence will cause some concerns. However, pIease be assured this is part of our investigation and we will try and keep any disruption to a minimum.

“If you can help us in anyway please call 101 or speak to one of our officers out and about in the village.”
