Facebook users are reportedly in meltdown as the social media platform goes down.
People around the world are understood to be experiencing serious technical problems today (Friday), preventing them from accessing the site.
Reports began emerging shortly after 2.30pm, with many people saying they were unable to view content or navigate the site.
Others encountered error messages stating that pages could not be displayed. Messenger is also affected, with messages unable to send.
The disruption appears to be affecting users in the UK and elsewhere, although Meta has yet to issue a statement explaining the cause of the outage.
Data from downforeveryoneorjustme.com shows more than 20,000 users have reported problems accessing Facebook, with the earliest reports logged shortly after 1pm.
The outage does not appear to be limited to one region. Users in countries including the United States, Canada, the Philippines, Spain and Hungary have reported experiencing issues with the social media platform.
