A person has been struck by a train, causing major delays on the railway between Swindon and Reading.
Emergency services are dealing with the incident in the Didcot area this afternoon (Sunday) – with all lines currently blocked.
Great Western Railway (GWR) said trains running to and from Swindon and Reading may be cancelled or delayed.
Passengers have been warned that journeys could take up to 90 minutes longer than usual, with disruption expected until 6pm.
GWR said all trains in the affected area had to be brought to an immediate stop following the incident.
Some services will complete only part of their normal journeys, while others will be cancelled.
Long-distance trains may also be held at station platforms away from the affected area to avoid them being stopped outside stations for extended periods.
GWR said it is working with Network Rail and the emergency services to deal with the incident “as sensitively, quickly and safely as possible”.
