A police car has been wrecked in a crash on a blue light run near Chippenham.
Two officers were taken to hospital after the single-vehicle road traffic collision just outside Yatton Keynell on Thursday afternoon (12 February).
The incident, on an unnamed road between the village and Grittleton, happened at the officers responded to an emergency call in the area.
Locals reported seeing debris strew across the country route following the smash – describing the emergency vehicle as “destroyed”.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that both occupants of the police car were taken to hospital as a precaution, and were discharged soon after.
The road was closed in both directions while the roads policing team attended, and recovery for the damaged vehicle was arranged.
