UPDATE: Body found in Aldbourne river said to be missing 41-year-old man
999 crews have descended on a Wiltshire village this afternoon (Wednesday).
Emergency services raced to Aldbourne, in the countryside south-east of Swindon, following the discovery of a body in the River Kennet at around 4pm.
The village pond and Oxford Street have been cordoned off as first responders deal with the incident.
Several fire engines, numerous police vehicles, an ambulance and two ambulance cars were in attendance.
Efforts to recover the body were ongoing at 5pm, but the area is likely to reopen early this evening.
Further details are unclear at this stage – Wiltshire Police has been approached for comment.
