A young man has been charged with the murder of a father-of-two from Chippenham.
Russell Nixon, aged 38, of Derby Close, was found dead by police officers responding to reports of an assault on London Road just after midnight yesterday morning.
Matthew Chapman, 22, of Wood Lane, has been charged with his murder by specialist detectives from the Brunel Major Crime Investigation Team.
He’s been remanded in custody and will appear at Salisbury Magistrates Court today.
Formal identification has not yet taken place; however, the victim’s family have been informed and are being supported by specialist family liaison officers.
