A woman has been rushed to hospital after crashing her moped on a Wiltshire route.
Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the B4042 at Callow Hill, near Brinkworth, at around 11am this morning (Tuesday).
The incident involved a moped and a van; it’s believed the rider – a woman – struck the rear of a slowing or stationary van.
An ambulance crew attended the scene and provided urgent treatment. Following further assessment, Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance were deployed due to a serious injury to her femur.
The woman, aged in her 20s, was rushed to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon by land ambulance.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “At around 10.50am this morning we responded to a serious collision between a van and a motorcycle on the B4042 in Brinkworth.
“The rider of the motorcycle, a woman in her 20s, was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries.
“No arrests were made and the road has reopened.”
A spokesperson for Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance commented: “We responded in our helicopter, with two critical care paramedics and a doctor on board.
“Our team helped treat the patient on scene before assisting their onward transfer to Great Western Hospital by land ambulance.”
