A woman has been taken to hospital following a crash on the A4 near Chippenham.
Emergency services were called to the scene in London Road, outside The Pewsham pub, at around 11.30am this morning (Monday, 10 October).
Two black Honda cars were involved in the road traffic collision, which left both vehicles side-on in the carriageway.
The route has reopened since the incident – after it was closed between Pewsham Way and Derry Hill until shortly before 1.30pm as first responders worked at the scene.
Firefighters, from Chippenham and Calne, used hydraulic cutting equipment to release two casualties – who are believed to have suffered only minor injuries.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service sent two fire engines and two fire officers to the incident.
A spokesperson said: “We were called to the A4 at Pewsham at 11.29am this morning following a two vehicle road traffic collision.
“Two crews attended, from Chippenham and Calne, and firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free two casualties.”
South Western Ambulance Service also attended the smash, responding in two double-crewed ambulances and an ambulance officer.
Wiltshire 999s understands that one woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries. No other occupants of the vehicles are thought to have required hospital treatment.
