A woman has died after being found critically wounded in a Swindon street.
Emergency services were called to Celsus Grove, in Okus, at around 3am on Thursday morning (14 December) following the discovery of an unresponsive casualty.
A woman, aged in her 20s, was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite the best efforts of medical staff, she later died.
Police cordoned off a car park behind Tustan House and part of Pasteur Drive.
There was only one item visible within the crime scene – a smashed glass bottle.
Scaffolding was also visible on the side of Tustan House and featured within the cordon – however, it’s not clear if it played a part in the incident.
One local resident said that they heard shouting late on Wednesday night (13 December), but it’s again unclear whether it was linked.
Detectives launched an investigation, but appear to have ruled out foul play.
“There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said.
They added: “Our thoughts are with her family.”
