A woman who was in charge of a ‘dangerous’ dog at a Swindon park must pay compensation.
32-year-old Megan Edwards was walking a Staffordshire Bull Terrier when it became dangerously out of control in Lydiard Park on 27 April this year.
On the day of trial, at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on 13 November, she changed her plea to guilty – having previously denied the offence.
The defendant, of Wilmot Close, in The Prinnels, was ordered to pay £500 to the victim.
37-year-old Daniel O’Kelly, of no fixed abode, was charged with having a dog not under proper control in relation to the same incident, but the case was dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service.
