Wiltshire Police is telling motorists “do not drive” after overnight snowfall.
The force’s Roads Policing Unit said that “very heavy snow” is “making driving conditions very dangerous”.
“If your journey is not necessary please do not drive”, a spokesperson said.
Much of Wiltshire is affected by snowfall, with many schools closed and bus services cancelled.
In an updated statement, Wiltshire Police said: “Following heavy snowfall overnight, today’s commute is a difficult one for many.
“Our Roads Policing Unit are out and about dealing with multiple incidents so please only travel if necessary and take extra care as many roads will be difficult to navigate until the snow thaws.”
