New slot or casino games are always being created and released, and Chicken Road is the latest in a long line of exciting options. Launched in 2024, Chicken Road is developed by InOut Games. Unlike slots though, this game is more of a mini game or crash game in its own right. And, it quite literally throws you into the fire as you try and cross the road without getting swallowed up.

Game design

As the name suggests, Chicken Road is based on the age-old joke, why did the chicken cross the road? In this game, the player has to help the chicken get across the road while avoiding dangerous manhole covers. Each of the manhole covers is shown with a multiplier. And, the further across the road the chicken gets (the more manholes it’s passed), the higher the potential reward and payout. Of course, as the chicken takes more steps across the road, the chances of a failure increases. This gives the game a lot of thrill and excitement as players have to determine when they think enough is enough.

However, as a player, you do get to choose the risk level which is something not available in regular slot games. There are four options ranging from easy to hardcore. Of course, playing on easy mode means getting the lowest prizes, but there is a better chance of claiming some. Conversely, hardcore means getting the bigger prizes, but you’re going to need some serious luck to claim them. That being said, there is a 98% RTP in play here. And this means that no matter the level, you’re going to get some wins tucked under your belt.

Just like any volatile slot game, the higher the volatility, the bigger rewards you can claim. Of course, make sure that your ready for the high-reward element. Let’s not forget that there are some other perks and bonuses to consider as well.

Chicken Road features

Just like other crash games such as Aviator, there isn’t much in the way of extra features. In fact, this is one of the simplest games you can get. And this is great. It means there’s really nothing to distract you from the main game premise. Of course, there is a grand golden egg prize, and that’s what you need to get to.

Where there are differences you need to know about, are those modes.

  • Easy: has 24 manholes that need to be crossed. This level has a 1 in 25 chance of being fried during the process.
  • Medium: has 22 manholes to cross, and a 3 in 25 chance of losing.
  • Hard: has 20 manhole covers and a 5 in 25 probability of not making it across the road.
  • Hardcore: has just 15 manholes and a 10 in 25 chance of failure.

When it comes to the prizes, the easy level will give you 1.02x to 24.5x your stake depending on the manhole cover you have reached. But, when it comes to hardcore, the prizes start at 1.65x and go to a whopping 3,303, 384x your stake. Both of these top prizes include claiming the golden egg at the end of the game.

All of this helps to make this a very fun game. And now, it’s increasingly found at many online casinos. If you’re looking to play, Casinoguys UK has a great list of the top casinos with Chicken Road available. You can also find other similar games to play as well, if you’re planning on mixing things up a bit.

Should you cross the road?

This game isn’t for everyone due to its simplicity. But therein lies part of the fun. It’s a popular format these days and is great at ramping up the tension and risk on every step. Subsequently, it’s a lot of fun, especially as there is a pretty good reward. Better still, you get to control the pace of the game, so there’s no need to rush. Determine when you want to cash out, and if you’re lucky, you could win on every round. It’s not changing up anything when it comes to gameplay, but getting that chicken to cross the road has never been so fun, nor so meaningful.
