A Wiltshire village shop had been targeted by thieves for a second time in two weeks.
Police officers responded to reports of a burglary in progress at Central Convenience Store in Silver Street, Potterne, at 11.50pm on 7 June.
It’s believed three males wearing all-black clothing broke into the building via a window.
They took cigarettes – understood to be worth hundreds of pounds – and fled in a black Land Rover Discovery.
Moments before fleeing, one of the men is said to have smashed the passenger window of a nearby taxi with what is thought to have been a baseball bat.
It follows a similar incident back overnight between 26 May and 27 May, where people broke into the building by smashing a window – stealing alcohol.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made.
“Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact us on 101 quoting reference 54230059747.”
