CORRECTION: Wiltshire Police say they issued the wrong information – the police car was not directly involved in the collision. This article has been updated to reflect this error.
Two vehicles crashed in the presence of a police car responding on blue lights.
The emergency vehicle was responding to a 999 call along the A3102 Swindon Road when the road traffic collision occurred on Tuesday morning (18 November).
The incident, which happened close to Junction 16 of the M4 at around 7.30am, involved a black Ford Transit van and a silver Mercedes.
It’s understood one vehicle slowed down to allow for the police car on blue lights to pass – and another vehicle went into the back of that.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “At 7.30am yesterday morning a black Ford Transit van and a silver Mercedes were involved in a collision on the A3102 at junction 16 of the M4.
“There were no reported injuries and no arrests made.”
