Police officers are searching for the two occupants of a car who ran away from the scene of a road traffic collision in Swindon yesterday evening.
All three emergency services were called to Burger King on Queens Drive at around 7pm on Monday, following reports of a crash involving two cars and a wall.
On arrival, officers discovered an empty blue Peugeot 206 which had lost control on Queens Drive and subsequently collided with a family travelling in a Vauxhall Zafira people carrier and then the wall of A E Smith and Son Funeral Directors’ car park.
A witness to the incident told us that two cars (the Peugeot and another unknown vehicle) were ‘racing’ along Queens Drive and ‘travelling in excess of the speed limit’.
The ambulance service attended to examine the family – including two young children – in the people carrier, but it’s not believed they suffered any lasting injuries.
