A woman was taken to hospital following a crash on the A4 in Chippenham.
Emergency services were called to a two-car road traffic collision in London Road, Pewsham, shortly after 2pm on Wednesday (18 February).
The incident involved a black Tesla and a white Hyundai i10, with the Hyundai reportedly crossing the white lines and impacting the Tesla head-on.
The female driver of the Hyundai had to be cut free from her vehicle by firefighters. She was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.
The male driver of the Tesla sustained only minor injuries, and was discharged by paramedics on scene.
Police closed the major route, which connects Chippenham with Calne, in both directions for around four hours – reopening it just before 6pm.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that crews from Chippenham and Calne released one casualty using hydraulic cutting equipment.
It’s understood firefighters removed the driver-side door to so that the injured woman could be assessed and brought out of the wreckage safely.
South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said that two double-crewed land ambulances and a tactical commander attended the scene.
A spokesperson added that they “conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Royal United Hospital Bath” for further care.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that no arrests were made.
