A woman has been rushed to hospital after being found unconscious on a bench in Swindon.
At least six officers were at the scene outside Saint Barnabas Parish Church on Cricklade Road in Gorse Hill at around 11pm tonight.
Police waited for an ambulance, but as one arrived at the incident they were leaving with the casualty – in her 20s – in the back of the police car. They drove off at speed, on blue lights.
The exact nature of the medical emergency is unclear at this stage.
The incident is not linked to the ongoing missing persons search in East Swindon tonight.
