Two women are fighting for their lives after a head-on crash near Lacock.
Emergency services responded to a serious road traffic collision on the A350 at Notton at around 9.15 this morning (Tuesday).
The incident, which happened around 300 metres north of junction for Whitehall Garden Centre, involved a grey SsangYong Rexton and a private hire Vauxhall minibus.

The driver of the SsangYong – a woman aged in her 50s – sustained significant injuries.
A passenger in the minibus – a woman aged in her 40s – also sustained significant injuries.
Both casualties were rushed to hospital for urgent care, having been stabilised by local ambulance crews and critical care medics from Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC).

A GWAAC spokesperson confirmed: “Our crew were covering Chippenham and the surrounding area in one of our critical care cars today when they were tasked to an incident in Chippenham at 09:16.
“They responded with an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Critical Care and two Specialist Paramedics on board.
“They treated a patient on scene, before ground-escorting them to hospital in a road ambulance for further treatment.”

The driver of the minibus was also taken to hospital, but as a precaution – and isn’t thought to have suffered any serious injuries in the smash.
As of 5.30pm, the road between Lackham and Lacock remained closed in both directions for forensic collision investigation work and vehicle recovery.
