A Trowbridge mum has been jailed for burglary and assaulting emergency workers.
Abbie Powter, 26, was disturbed by an elderly woman after she broke into her bungalow in Albert Road in September last year.
At an earlier hearing, the court heard that the defendant, of Sleightholme Court, had left her fingerprints at the scene. Though, nothing was stolen.
On 23 December, she was located and arrested for the burglary. During the arrest, the mum-of-one kicked out at two officers.
PCSO Liam Wilkins and PS Sarah Pickles suffered only minor injuries in the attack.
Powter was remanded in custody over Christmas and appeared before Swindon Crown Court on 3 March, where she was sentenced for her crimes.
Tony Bignall, mitigating, told the court that the defendant is addicted to Class A drugs.
Judge Peter Crabtree jailed her for two years – which included the activation of a suspended sentence for previous offences of burglary, theft and damaging a police vehicle.
