Firefighters from Trowbridge have helped rescue a cow from a trench this morning.
The Wiltshire crew were called upon to assist their colleagues from Bath fire station in Woolverton, Frome, where the calf had fallen into an estimated 5 foot deep hole in a farmer’s field.
The rescue is understood to have take around an hour, with a harness and digger being used to pull the animal from the trench. The rescue was over by 10.30am.
Despite the ordeal, the calf was unhurt and released back to the herd.
