A missing woman’s body has been recovered from a Wiltshire canal following an extensive four-day search operation.
19-year-old Georgie Nolan disappeared in the early hours of Saturday (24 October) in Bradford on Avon – having been seen behind The Barge Inn at around 5am.
Wiltshire Police coordinated an urgent operation to locate her, deploying Wiltshire Search and Rescue, Avon and Somerset Search and Rescue and Hampshire Search and Rescue Dogs.

On Sunday (25 October), specialist volunteers entered the water, using underwater cameras and long poles to search beneath moored boats and along the canal bank.
Searches continued on Monday and today (Tuesday), Avon and Somerset Police’s specialist dive team entered the Kennet and Avon Canal over fears she may have entered the water.
Her body was located late this afternoon. Wiltshire 999s understands it was found in the canal, close to the houseboat where she lived.

In a formal statement, Wiltshire Police said: “We can confirm that a body was found this afternoon (27 October) in the Bradford on Avon area during the search for missing teenager Georgie.
“While formal identification has not yet taken place, Georgie’s family have been informed of this development and are being supported by specially trained officers. They have asked that their privacy is respected at this extremely difficult time.
“Our thoughts are with Georgie’s family and friends.
“Formal identification will take place in due course.”
