Boris Johnson says there will be ‘tough, tough weeks ahead’ in the fight against COVID-19 as he confirms harsher restrictions are coming.

The Prime Minister, speaking during a visit to the vaccination programme at Chase Farm Hospital in London, told of how the government must take “tougher measures”, adding that “we will be announcing those in due course”.

The new measures are likely to be similar to the lockdown in March 2020.
