Three people have been rushed to hospital after a road traffic collision near Marlborough.
999 crews responded to the two-vehicle smash on the A346 at Port Hill shortly after 2pm today (Wednesday).
A white Lexus CT200h impacted a black Fiat 500 in the incident – though it’s not been confirmed which vehicle was on the wrong side of the road at the time.
The Wiltshire Air Ambulance helicopter landed in a field close to the scene as the charity’s critical care medics provided assistance to three local ambulance crews.
The Fiat was displaying L-plates but it’s understood the learner driver was in the passenger seat, having swapped places with a qualified driver a short time before the crash.
Both drivers and the passenger in the Fiat were rushed to Great Western Hospital by land ambulance – though police say they are not believed to have sustained any serious injuries.
The A346 was closed in both directions until around 4.30pm.
Wiltshire Police said that, at this time, no arrests have been made in connection with the collision.
