Three men have been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Salisbury.
A man was taken to hospital in a critical condition following an altercation in New Canal, Salisbury, in the early hours of Sunday morning (20 February).
Two local men, aged 24 and 23, were arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. They have since been released under investigation on conditional bail.
Another 24-year-old local man has also been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He remains in custody.
The victim of this serious assault remains in hospital in a critical condition, with his family being supported by specialist officers.
Det Insp Simon Childe, Senior Investigating Officer in the case, said: “Our primary focus at this stage is with the victim and his family and ensuring we deliver them justice following this vicious assault.
“Our enquiries continue to move at a fast pace and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank those who have assisted us to date.
“We are still seeking any witnesses who were in the area of New Canal at around 3am on Sunday morning and have seen anything relating to this incident, including anyone who may have video footage that could prove vital to this case.
“We would also still like to hear from any taxi drivers who may have been in the vicinity at this time and have any information, or anyone with dash cam footage from this area.
“Your information, no matter how small, could be incredibly important in our wider investigation.”
