A man was stabbed in the chest by a ‘group of young men’ in Swindon last night.
A dozen police vehicles raced to the scene in Kennedy Drive at around 4.15pm on Wednesday following reports of a serious assault. On arrival, they found a the victim with a stab wound and a head injury.
A 20-year-old local man was taken to Great Western Hospital for treatment, but Wiltshire Police say the injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Three male teenagers, all from the local area, have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and are currently in police custody.
DI Helen Jacobs said: “We believe this to be an isolated incident with no wider risk to the public.
“Cordons were in place to allow officers to carry out examinations of the scene and these have now been removed. House to house enquiries are likely to be continuing today so residents may see an increased police presence, I would encourage anyone who saw the victim being assaulted or people running from the scene to speak to my team or call 101 with any information.
“We can deal with your call confidentially, please don’t put off calling us as your help could be vital to our investigation.”
