A teenager on an electric bike has been injured after ‘crashing into the side of a vehicle’ in Swindon.
The road traffic collision happened in Cricklade Road, on the junction with Chestnut Avenue, at around 1.30pm this afternoon (Friday).
The male cyclist was allegedly riding the wrong way down the road when he ploughed into the side of a blue van.
Chestnut Avenue was partially blocked by the police as paramedics treated the wounded male following the impact.
Wiltshire Police previously said the “cyclist was struck by a van” but in an updated statement said the “cyclist was in collision with a van”.
The rider, a teenage boy, was taken into an ambulance on a stretcher before being conveyed to hospital for further treatment.
The force said his injuries aren’t thought to be life-threatening.
The van driver remained at the scene and no arrests were made.
