Two girls have reported being drugged in a sex attack by a stranger in Chippenham.
Police were called to an incident in Westcroft in the early hours of Sunday morning (1 December).
It’s alleged a local man approached the teenagers, both aged under 16, in Rowden Hill some time earlier – before offering them alcohol and drugs, and encouraging them to attend his home address.
There it’s claimed he started to sexually assault one of the girls inside the property, who managed to flee and alert police to what was happening.
When officers arrived at the scene and entered the address, it’s alleged the other girl had been raped.
The suspect, a man aged in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual assault.
He was also arrested for supplying a controlled drug of Class B, believed to be amphetamine.
Wiltshire Police has since released the man on bail as the investigation continues. It’s understood he has bail conditions which limit his access to children.
