A teenage cannabis smoker was caught drug driving on the motorway in Swindon.
Police stopped 18-year-old Brandon Huynh at the wheel of a Volkswagen Golf on the M4 on 8 April.
Prosecutor Pauline Lambert said the defendant failed the roadside DrugWipe and was taken into custody – where he provided a blood sample for analysis.
It was found to contain Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) at 5.5 microgrammes per litre of blood, whilst the legal limit is 2 microgrammes.
At Swindon Magistrates’ Court, where he admitted his crime, Huynh was disqualified from driving for one year and fined £80. He must also pay £85 costs and a surcharge.
