A teenager has been charged after two ‘very serious’ knife incidents in Chippenham.
Detectives investigating a stabbing and an attempt stabbing have made an arrest.
18-year-old Rio Brown, of York Road, Calne, has been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm with intent.
He also faces charges of theft of a bike, possession of cannabis and two counts of possession of a bladed article.
It follows two incidents in Chippenham – the first occurred in Kingsley Park, off Kingsley Road, at approximately 4pm on Monday 13 October.
A 20-year-old man sustained a knife wound during the incident, and his bike was stolen. Police previously confirmed that they later recovered the bike.
In a separate incident, which took place in New Road in the early hours of Saturday 27 September, a male is reported to have chased a victim and attempted to assault him with a knife.
Wiltshire Police remanded the suspect in custody, but at court this week, magistrates made the decision to release him on bail.
He is next due to appear at Salisbury Crown Court on 26 November.
Det Sgt Ben Brewster said: “Whilst we have charged a man in connection with these incidents we are still keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone who may have information.
“These were two very serious incidents and you may have information which could be key to our investigation.”
