Staff at a Swindon Specsavers have ‘given life-saving CPR to an elderly man’.
Emergency services swarmed the opticians in Regent Street at midday today (Thursday).
An elderly man is understood to have suffered a cardiac arrest in the store – prompting as significant 999 response.

Two ambulances, a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) ambulance, an operational command vehicle and numerous police cars were in attendance.
Great Western Air Ambulance landed in a field off Spring Gardens – as the charity’s critical care medics rushed to assist at the scene.
Two police officers turned customers away from Specsavers as they arrived for their appointments.

It’s understood that prior to the arrival of emergency crews, staff within the store provided CPR to an 86-year-old man and used a defibrillator on him.
The casualty was rushed to Great Western Hospital by land ambulance – with air ambulance medics travelling with them in the back.
A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 11:55hrs on Thursday 09 October to an incident in Swindon.
“We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, an operations officer, and the hazardous area response team to the scene.
“We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Great Western Hospital.”
