A Swindon man arrested over an alleged racist assault has been released without charge.
Wiltshire Police published an image of a suspect wanted in connection with an incident in the Cheney Manor area on Wednesday (9 September).
It was alleged that the male pictured had carried out a racially-aggravated assault back in August.
Following the public appeal by the force, he was arrested a short time later and interviewed by officers at Gablecross Police Station.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that following questioning, the man was “released with no further action”.
They added that the “victim has been updated” on the investigation.
“Should further information come to light we will continue with enquiries”, a spokesperson concluded.
