A man has been charged with attempted murder following a serious assault in Swindon.
Emergency services attended the scene in Broad Street, Swindon, on Monday (21 March)at approximately 5.20pm, where a woman had suffered significant injuries.
They are believed to be life-changing injuries and she was taken to hospital, where she remains in a stable condition.
Sezwin Crasto, 21, of Broad Street, Swindon, has been charged with attempted murder and will appear before Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning (23 March).
Another man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, but he has since been released with no further action.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We’d like to reassure the local community that we do not believe there to be any wider threat to the public.
“Anyone with information on this or witnesses to an incident on Manchester Road moments before, which we understand was witnessed by several members of the public, are asked to call us on 101 and quote crime reference 54220029066.”
