A suspect has been named as police charge a man over a stabbing in Marlborough.
Police raced to reports of a disorder in Garside Way, on the Marleberg Grange housing estate, at around 10.30pm on Wednesday evening (10 September).
Oliver Martin, aged in his 30s, sustained knife wounds in the incident – and went to hospital for treatment. His injuries aren’t said to be life-changing or life-threatening.
34-year-old Patrick Martin was arrested, and has since been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.
The man, of Garside Way, also faces an allegation of assaulting PC Clarke.
He’s been remanded in police custody and is due to appear at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court this morning (Friday).
In a statement on Thursday (11 September), DS Andrew Morley said: “I appreciate the concern this incident may cause in the community, however please be assured that this is thought to be an isolated incident between two men who know each other.
“Enquiries are ongoing into the incident, and we are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the disorder or the build up to it.
“We are also keen to hear from anyone who visited The Pelican Inn in Froxfield and witnessed anything suspicious, as it is understood that the men involved were there earlier in the evening.”
