East Swindon residents were awoken by the sound of police sirens and a helicopter overhead this morning, as officers pursued a stolen vehicle.
999 operators received reports of a vehicle being stolen in the Eldene area during the early hours of today, Tuesday 12 September.
A short authorised pursuit took place involving police vehicles and the police helicopter in the area. The vehicle was then stopped using a stinger.
A 44-year-old local man was arrested at the scene, and is currently in custody.
