A man’s been arrested following a brawl outside a pub in Marlborough this evening.
A dozen punters flooded out of The Roebuck on A4 London Road to watch – and encourage – the fight involving two men in the street, but it’s understood the men involved were not customers.
Police were called to the scene at around 7pm following reports of the disorder breaking out.
A dark coloured Volkswagen parked in Elcot Lane, just a stone’s throw from the pub, was damaged during the incident. The back window of the vehicle was smashed by one of the males involved.

A short time later, roads policing officers responding to the disorder arrested a man covered in blood – thought to be in his 20s – outside Marlborough Bridge petrol station.
For 45 minutes, whilst a paramedic assessed the man’s injuries, the suspect shouted threats and profanities at police officers, the press and passing members of the public.

He didn’t require any medical treatment so was taken to Gablecross custody at around 8pm.
The status of the second man involved in the disorder is unknown. It’s believed he suffered injures in the altercation, including an arm injures which was bleeding.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We were called to a disturbance at the pub just before 7pm today. A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and is currently in custody.”
