UPDATE: Van driver arrested after cyclist killed in crash on A4 in Wiltshire
A serious traffic collision has closed the A4 near Avebury in both directions.
Emergency services were called to the crash on the major route between Beckhampton Roundabout and Cherhill at around 8pm this evening (Sunday).
The road is expected to remain closed for investigation work until Monday morning (22 April).
In a statement Wiltshire Police said: “Please be aware that the A4 between the Beckhampton roundabout and Cherhill is currently closed following a serious RTC.
“The road is likely to be closed for several hours. Please avoid the area.”
